Judy-
I appreciate anything you can do to help spread the word on Candy. A bit about her.

She's a registered Morgan from Merriehill Stables in Illinois. They breed modern show lines. Her sire is Chicagoan,
don't remember her dam's name off hand. Foaled May 1999. 14.3hh Solid bay with no white. Healthy as a, well.. horse.
Absolutely no vices or health issues, super feet. Our farrier loves her. She's barefoot most of the year though we do put
front shoes on her in the summer as she'll occasionally get a sand crack from tearing around on the hard packed ground.
She's easy to handle on the ground, comes when called, loads and trailers fine, stands well for grooming and tacking and
farrier and vet *most* of the time, but every now and then she's a pain in the butt. She can definitely be a bit of a "marish" mare.
She was trained by Merriehill for saddleseat and driving, but didn't have the high stepping action needed to be competitive in the
show ring so they sold her to some friends of their's (and friends of our's) as a recreational horse.
I don't like saddleseat and my background is huntseat so we ride her in that. To my knowledge she's never had a western saddle
on her and she definitely isn't trained western. No low head carriage or neck reining here.

Our problem with her is that she has a rather hot temperament and really needs a lot more work than we can provide. Of course,
the people we bought her from told us she was a great weekend horse, and for them she may have been, but she hasn't been for us.
They also said she was a great trail horse, but I can't say if she is one way or the other since we've not really had the opportunity
to do much trail riding with her because of her temperament not being a good fit for our lifestyle. If we can lunge/round pen/ground
work her a few days a week, we get heavenly rides on the weekends. If we don't, we get hellish rides on the weekends. She'll be a complete pig,
won't listen or obey, and will throw the occasional temper tantrum. When she's worked regularly she's fine. And if she's being ridden by a very
experienced, no-nonsense rider (which Tim and I are NOT), even not having worked in a while doesn't matter and she'll behave herself.
But for our needs... intermediate (me) and beginner (Tim) riders wanting a weekend recreational horse that we can just tack up and go on a
Sunday afternoon... she isn't the right horse. For someone with more experience and who was committed to working her regularly, she'd be great.
With her movement I think she'd make a great hunter prospect as she's definitely more suited for huntseat disciplines than park/saddleseat disciplines.
I don't know enough about western riding to know if she'd do well in that (after being trained western of course) or not.

Lots of pictures of her here: http://www.wildhauskennels.com/otherpetsgallery.htm

Thanks again for the help getting the word out!
Take care and enjoy the puppy cuddles,
