Baroncrest Nuggeteer
News from Pure Gold Morgans,
Highland Michigan

Finally the day came to take Baron to Vermont, back to the beginning. It had been 10 years since I last attended the LCS, the year we purchased Baroncrest Nuggeteer as a weanling and saw his grandfather Meredith Bruce's retirement ceremony. I had made plans to stay with Cathy and Peter White in northern New York, as a half-way stop. What nice people. They opened their home and hearts to us. Thanks again Cathy & Peter!

Well, the trip to and from Vermont was exhausting and breathtaking all at the same time. It was wonderful to get reacquainted with folks. It was way too hot and humid for my liking though (I didn't think it got that hot up there). A Huge Thanks goes to my friend Patti, who got us (Baron, Mo & me ) there safe and sound to the Tunbridge Fairgrounds in VT, for the 2002 Lippitt Country Show - and home again! (Through 5 States & 1,869 miles) We brought home 5 ribbons and many, many compliments. Even with Baron dropping a ton of weight from the heat, I believe he did us proud. The icing on the cake was when Baron's daughter, Woodbrook Jordan Russell, won Reserve Sr. Mare Champion and Res. Grand Champion Mare as a 5 yr. old !
